We’re very close to mixing, just some brass to be done. I hope we can start mixing in a few week and get the package done by July. We’ll see…

Tempting….We’ll see. We are in a good position. Tomorrow Sami Kuoppamäki will come around for the first time and the plan is to get as many songs properly demoed as possible. With Kuoppis, “demo” is a relative term, there will probably be quite a few keepers, it depends more on the technical quality than musicianship…Very excited!
The songs are pretty much “there”. Teijo sung and played keys brilliantly once again, Samu did the first round of basses and we have a new recruit as well, Pekka Nyman, who plays percussion. The percussions this time are the melodic kind, marimba, clockenspiel and vibes. Such a nice addition!
Pepa Päivinen came around and we checked wind and brass parts with him. There will be more of that as well compared to First Light.
So…We’re getting there!
It’s been a really hectic half a year. I’ve been knee deep in post doing mixing, foley recording and editing. Luckily I’ve been able to steal away some time for this pet project of mine as well and I’m happy to tell You that the rhythm guitars for the second release are done! We’re moving onto acoustic guitars & bass. I’m hoping to be able to visit Teijo and do the first round of keys & vocals with him during the summer.
My other projects are moving as well: SStB’s (my solo alter ego) first release is in the download stores on the 22nd of this month and it’s called “Blacks & Blues”.
FlipSide’s second ep is being mastered and should be out in August at the latest, this one’s called “Dead Light”. I’m very proud of it….
In more ways than one ;-). I’ve gone thru the demo material, adding and pruning along the way. In the middle of the second round, probably done by Feb 1st 2015. So it will be maybe April before any recording. I’ve been very busy with other stuff…The demo’s lean more towards Cloudkicker than Opeth, if I have to make a general statement. More vocals as well.

As other, more urgent projects dictated, Liquid Wolf has been on a hiatus for a while. Not anymore; we are preparing for the second release. The line-up is the same: Sami Sarhamaa on guitars, keys etc, Teijo TIkkanen on keys and vocals, Sami Kuoppamäki on drums and Samu Wuori on assorted instruments and co-production duties. We are aiming for a mid 2015 release, the first recording sessions should happen in November 2014. This should be fun!
